Over a year since South African rap superstar AKA was shot and killed, his girlfriend Nadia Nakai says she still has not recovered from the heartbreak of losing him and is unsure whether she will find love again.

AKA was shot and killed alongside longtime friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane on February 10 outside a Durban restaurant last year.

At the time of his death, the romance between them seemed to be heating up, and Nakai was even welcomed by his family.

In an interview with the Daily Sun, the rapper said she was still finding it hard to come to terms with the death of AKA.

“At the moment, I’m trusting God’s process. I’ve been going through a lot of pain and sadness but am trying to find a breakthrough to be happy and focus on the good things in my life,” Nadia said.

Nadia, also started her own reality show called Nadia Beyond Bragga, said that she hoped that the series would shed more light on her personal and professional life.

“It’s really nice because I’m able to show people what it takes to be in this industry, the difficulties of not getting your songs on playlists. I really allow people into my space, and I think it’s inspirational for new age artists to see how it’s done.”
