The speedy grocery delivery service prides itself with getting goods to your doorstep – or in this case, beachfront – in under an hour.
CHECKERS SIXTY60 JETSKI SPOTTED AT CAPE TOWN BEACH
On TikTok, a video of a Checkers Sixty60 branded jetski has had South Africans amused.
In the clip, a “delivery guy” is seen transporting goods in the back of his ride. The “driver” navigates the choppy waters of Clifton Beach as he arrives on the sandy surface.
In another clip, another Sixty60 delivery guy – spotted around the bay – is seen sporting a beach-style version of the Checkers uniform, a turquoise wetsuit and branded swimshorts.
Both videos have garnered over one million views each.
In the comments section, South Africans were amused but unsurprised.
Qeels: “Checkers will literally cross the ocean for you.”
Lucien MacArthur: “Checkers Sixty60 making waves.”
It’s unclear if the service is legit, as Checkers has yet to comment on it.
A PLANE, TOO?
What has been confirmed though is Checkers Sixty60 branded airplane, which is part of the Lift Airlines.
According to the retailer, the Airbus A320 conducted its maiden flight between Johannesburg and Cape Town at 10am on Thursday, 24 October.
