Another overconfident Kaizer Chiefs fan had to eat his words after his club lost against Sundowns – again – in a match on Saturday.

A disabled Kaizer Chiefs vowed to push his wheelchair home after his team lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in a match on Saturday, 1 March.

The match took place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, which often hosts games for the Brazilians.

KAIZER CHIEFS FAN LOSES BET – WILL HE TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE?

Ahead of the game, Ronewa Mudzanani – the founder of Wheels Life Changer – placed a bet that his team, Kaizer Chiefs, would beat Sundowns. If they lost, the paraplegic tennis champion who represents South Africa – vowed to push his wheelchair from Johannesburg to his hometown of Thohoyandou in Limpopo.

Lucas Ribeiro’s stunning first-half goal sealed a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Mamelodi Sundowns over Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership clash at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The Brazilian forward’s 41st-minute strike handed the defending champions their third win over Chiefs this season, further solidifying their dominance at the top of the league table. With a sold-out crowd roaring in the background, Sundowns showcased their class, while Chiefs struggled to find their rhythm in a match that lacked fireworks but delivered a decisive result.

Needless to say, Ronewa was left to eat his words after Amakhosi was defeated by their rivals.

The Kaizer Chiefs fan – who suffers from cerebral palsy and scoliosis – posted a follow-up of him “training” to set off on his journey. However, it was clear that it was all just a joke, as he laughed at his promise.

Ronewa isn’t the first Kaizer Chiefs fan to place – and lose a bet – on the X platform. In November, Moshikaro Moagi claimed he would walk home from the FNB Stadium to Limpopo if the popular PSL club did not win the match also against the Sundowns.

On Facebook, Moagi claimed he had indeed walked home through the night, arriving in Tzanean the following afternoon. Like the wheelchair-bound fan, supporters of Amakhosi claimed that Moshikaro did not fulfill his bet and “faked” his trip home.

FANS FORK OUT HEFTY BOOZE BILLS

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs fans were left forking out hefty booze bills at Midrand lifestyle lounge, D48, after the club’s loss.

Ahead of the game, the hotspot advertised a promo that they would pay patrons’ alcohol bills if the team won against Sundowns.

Supporters needlessly ran up the tab, splurging on designer alcohol brands!
