However, on the 23rd of October 2024, the couple announced that they were getting divorced, to the great dismay of all South Africans. With some begging the couple to fix things instead of breaking up, according to other sources, the divorce had been long coming.

According to sources like News24, SI K had some player behavior when he met Rachel and way before they got married. She had put her foot down about it.

However, it seems like this behavior persisted into their marriage, with Rachel even lashing out at one point when a fan called her his type and another time when she found out that actress L Maso was sending naked pictures to SI K. In one video, when interviewed, SI K was asked if he would choose rugby or Rachel if he had to. He quickly said, “The answer is obvious, rugby.”

After Rachel said, “At your own risk, mate,” possibly implying the financial loss he would face in divorce, SI K then retracted after a long pause and said, “Of course, I choose Rachel.
