Famous media figure Somizi Mhlongo has been publicly accused of being a deadbeat in his role as a father to his daughter, Bahumi. This accusation comes from his former partner, Palesa Madisakwane, who shared her emotional journey on the podcast “To Hell and Back” hosted by Owamie.

In an emotional conversation, Palesa expressed her pain and frustration about Somizi’s complete lack of involvement in raising their daughter. She revealed that Somizi not only avoided his responsibilities as a father but, at times, even denied paternity. 

Somizi was not there at all, but his late sister, Joyce, supported me. She knew about our relationship, and she fully supported me. In my mind I was looking for Somizi, but he was nowhere; he was playing duck and dive. In fact, he was even denying that the baby was his.

Palesa also recalled painful accusations that she had used their child as a means of luring Somizi back into a relationship. This claim deeply hurt her and added to the emotional toll.

Throughout her daughter’s early years, Palesa struggled to provide the essentials, including food and clothing. Somizi, despite his public wealth and success, was completely absent when it came to supporting his child. Palesa recalls a particularly distressing time when she was in the hospital, and Somizi was nowhere to be found.

Despite his extravagant lifestyle, including luxurious parties and private jet travels, Somizi failed to prioritize his relationship with his daughter. Palesa pointed out the stark contrast between Somizi’s public persona and his role as a father, noting that Bahumi suffered in silence while Somizi lived a lavish life. 

“People would see Somizi flying around in private jets, partying with his friends, but he didn’t think of his daughter at all. He had all the resources, yet he never considered providing for Bahumi.”

According to Palesa, their relationship only began to improve after Somizi’s reality TV show “Living the Dream with Somizi” brought him into the public spotlight and began to feature his family more prominently.

Questions Around Somizi’s Wealth

Palesa also raised questions regarding the sources of Somizi’s wealth. While the media often portrays him as a successful celebrity, Palesa hinted that the origins of his income are unclear. She expressed concern that Somizi flaunted his wealth publicly, yet never shared it with his daughter or family.

“It’s strange when someone is so successful, yet the public doesn’t know where that money is coming from. He spends lavishly, throwing parties and living large, but never shares it with his own family. That raises questions.”

However, Palesa quickly clarified that she wasn’t attempting to expose Somizi or want his money. She felt it was the right time to speak out about her experiences after years of suppressing her emotions for the sake of her children.
