Durban-based gqom singer and dancer Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane has revealed to fans that her reality show, Uthando Lodumo, will be making a return for season three.
The three-part Showmax Original reality series, which is in its third season, follows the lives of Babes and Mandla Maphumulo, aka Mampintsha, from their proposal live on Gagasi FM on October 2020.
The show also follows them through marriage counselling, lobola negotiations, pregnancy, and a surprise bridal shower, all the way to their vibrant wedding in April 2021.
In season one, Babes admitted that working with your partner can be challenging, but said she was madly in love with Mampintsha and that they made hit songs together.
In season two, Uthando Lodumo introduced the viewers to the lovebirds as parents to their child Sponge, working on their individual music careers, and fixing family problems.
Unfortunately in December 2022, Babes Wodumo sadly lost her husband Mampintsha. Maphumulo died in hospital after he suffered a minor stroke.
The 40-year-old was admitted to the hospital a week after he returned from a performance with Big Nuz.
Babes Wodumo has since managed to crack her late husband’s cellphone password.
Earlier this year, she took to social media to inform her followers that she has the password to her late husband’s cellphone.
This after she told mourners during Mampintsha’s funeral in Durban that he did not share the password with her prior to his untimely death on Christmas Eve.
“I have found my man’s password because my man loved me until his last day on earth,” she said while going through Mampintsha’s cellphone.
“I am now reading the stuff you sent to him. Jokes aside, I will not hold grudges against anyone. There are so many girlfriends here.”
