Cyan Boujee opens up after being assaulted by her ex-Boyfriend
Social media influencer and DJ Cyan Boujee, real name Honour Zuma, has shared a harrowing account of an alleged physical assault by her ex-boyfriend.
In an emotional YouTube video Cyan revealed graphic details of the brutal attack, showing bruises and scars on her face and body.
Cyan recounted being asleep when her ex-boyfriend, whose name she did not mention, allegedly arrived at her home and started beating her up.
“I was sleeping, he was sleepless, and he came to my house. I didn’t want to wake up because I had a long weekend. I had just come back from Tanzania and I was exhausted.”
“He waited for everyone to leave the house and immediately when I fell asleep he came in and just started fighting me. He just started beating me up.
“You would think he’s a monster and he really is, but I think he was in a different state of mind at that time, he wasn’t thinking.
“I don’t know if I can blame alcohol or drugs. Actually, there’s nothing to blame, he’s just the weirdest vampire that has to stay in a cell.”
Despite her attempts to protect her face, she said he bit her on the side of her eye.
“He hit me so much it felt like punching me was not enough. Then he just started biting me all over, even on my face.
“I was screaming for help, I couldn’t breathe. At some point my eyes just went blank and I had to fight for myself.”
She said she managed to escape and run outside, but he pursued her, continuing the beating until neighbours came outside but didn’t help.
“People in my complex started coming outside to help me but they were not helping. Some were taking videos while others were watching from their balconies and I was pleading for help.
“It was painful to experience,” she said as she broke down in tears.
After a while, security and the police came to the rescue.
She said she got him arrested and alleged that his parents tried to bribe her.
“His parents came to see me and they just wanted to pay me. I just want him to leave me alone. I feel unsafe. I can’t even go outside. I’ve locked all my doors because I’m scared he might enter my house at any time and hurt me.”
She said the abusive signs were always there.
“When you guys posted a picture of me with DJ Maphorisa on social media, he said if he ever found out I was involved with another guy, whether I was with him at that time or not, he would destroy me. He said this two days before he hit me.”
She added he kept calling DJ Maphorisa’s name while he was beating her up.
Cyan expressed the trauma caused by the assault.
“I’m sad that every time I meet a guy they bring so much trauma and I can’t fight back because they are men. Then I meet women who disrespect me on the same level. That’s why I want to fight them, because I know I can’t fight men.
“It comes from the anger I’ve experienced with the men I’ve been with and now I just want to fight women who disrespect me because I know they can’t fight back like men.
“I’m traumatised. I think I’ll never be able to date again. I’m just so broken, but I will be OK.”
