Lasizwe takes a break at a Mental Health Wellness facility
South African YouTuber Lasizwe Dambuza has shared on Instagram that he has checked himself into a mental health wellness facility.
Dambuza acknowledged the personal challenges he is facing in life.
In a heartfelt post, he thanked his siblings for their support and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to rest and recharge.
“I’ve successfully checked myself into a mental health wellness centre. It’s been a beautiful, long year. Time to rest, recharge and reflect.
My team will be taking over my social media accounts after this post as the show has to go on (Awkward Dates and social media campaigns), and they confiscate phones here (literally, the nurse is standing next to me waiting for me to finish posting so she can take away my phone),” he wrote.
“Also, thank you to my siblings! Thank you for dropping me off here and holding my hand during the check-in process! Sweerie, Bo Makothi, I’ll see you guys when I am out and refreshed! I love you!”
“I’m checking myself into a mental wellness centre. I’m going on a mental wellness retreat because I suffer from depression and anxiety. This is very overwhelming for me, and I want to be present. I want to be surrounded by doctors, psychologists, peace and nature to help me process this milestone.”
Lasizwe mentioned that his team would manage his social media during his stay, as phones are confiscated at the facility.
He had previously opened up about his struggles with depression and anxiety, and this marks his second visit to a wellness centre for mental health care.
Celebrities commented on his post with heartfelt messages:
Anele Zondo: “Sending you hugs and kisses.”
Mihlali Ndamase: “The best, my love.”
