Zimbabwe Warriors Coach Simon Marange Bids Farewell to Orlando Pirates After Seven Years

Zimbabwean football coach Simon Marange has officially parted ways with Orlando Pirates Football Club after seven years.

The announcement comes shortly after he led Zimbabwe’s Under-20 side at the 2025 COSAFA tournament.

A Grateful Goodbye on Social Media

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Marange expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club, staff, and players who supported him throughout his tenure.

“7 yrs, incredible teams, unbelievable talents, obsessed staff. Thank u for giving me a platform to chase my dreams. Forever in my heart @orlandopirates. Thank u management for the faith, support & lessons. Thank u everyone who took this journey with me. Till next time #onceandalways,” he wrote.

From Youth Coach to COSAFA Recognition

Marange joined the Orlando Pirates development setup in 2017 and played an integral role in shaping the club’s youth talent. From 2018 to 2020, he led the Under-17 side to major success, clinching the 2019 Future Champions Trophy.

Most recently, he coached the Under-21 team, consistently grooming talent for the senior squad.

A Rising Name in Zimbabwean Football

His achievements at club level didn’t go unnoticed back home. In March 2024, Marange was appointed head coach of the Zimbabwe Under-20 national team.

His leadership extended to the Emerging Warriors at the 2025 COSAFA tournament, where his team finished second in their group behind hosts South Africa.
