LONGWE Twala, the son of legendary music mogul Chicco Twala, will stay behind bars as evidence contradicts his claim of being sick.
The 34-year-old Longwe appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court in Joburg on Wednesday, 4 December.
Arrested on 26 November, a warrant was issued when he failed to appear in court on 25 October for violating bail conditions. Longwe had been on the run for more than four weeks.
He initially claimed during a brief court appearance on 27 November that he missed his court date because he was unwell and had informed his aunt.
However, the state prosecutor revealed there was no medical evidence to support his claims.
Additionally, his family, including the aunt he mentioned, was unaware of his alleged illness.

The investigating officer could not find Longwe at the address he provided during his bail application.
In court, Longwe stated his intention to apply for bail, but the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is firmly opposing his release.
“He has already demonstrated that he cannot be trusted to adhere to bail conditions. As the state, we will present further reasons to oppose his release if he applies for bail,” said NPA spokeswoman Phindi Mjonondwane.
The case has been postponed to Monday, 9 December, for the bail hearing.
