Wrong Man for the Job? Orlando Pirates Star Expresses Doubts Over Nabiโs Suitability as Kaizer Chiefs Coach

Orlando Pirates Star Tso Vilakazi Says Coach Nabi Isnโt the Right Fit for Kaizer Chiefs
Orlando Pirates star Tso Vilakazi has publicly expressed his doubts over Nasreddine Nabiโs suitability as head coach of Kaizer Chiefs.
Vilakazi Slams Nabiโs Lack of Clear Game Plan
According toย Soccer Laduma,ย Vilakazi didnโt hold back in assessing Nabiโs performance at Kaizer Chiefs.
He stated that the Tunisian tactician has failed to impose a clear playing identity and get the best out of his squad.
โPersonally, I would not retain Nabi. One, as a coach, show us who you are with the type of football you want to play; it will tell us what type of person you are,โ Vilakazi pointed out.
โConfusion in Playstyleโ โ Vilakazi Questions Tactical Identity
The retired midfielder criticised what he sees as tactical inconsistency under Nabi, pointing to an early attempt to build from the back which quickly faded.
โOne or two games, he started as if he wanted to build from the back, but when youโre doing something youโre not used to, at some point youโll be confused,โ Vilakazi said.
He added that heโs still unsure what type of football Nabi is trying to implement.
โWhat is disappointing me about Nabi is I donโt know what type of football he really wants to play. Iโd be lying.โ
Praise for Duba Switch, But Little Else
Vilakazi acknowledged only one tactical move that impressed himโNabiโs decision to redeploy Wandile Duba from the wing to a central striking role.
โThe only switch I think he did and worked for Chiefs is when he moved (Wandile) Duba from wing to striker.โ
Aside from that, Vilakazi sees little progress or player development worth celebrating under Nabiโs tenure.
โNo Chiefs Player Has Risen to the Occasionโ
One of Vilakaziโs strongest criticisms centred around the lack of standout individual performances under Nabiโs watch.
โI donโt see him bringing the best out of Chiefs players. For me, thereโs no Chiefs player that has risen to the occasion.
It is a must that at the end of the season you have at least one player nominatedโPlayer of the Season, Midfielder of the Season, or Defender of the Season. For me, a team like the Chiefsโit is a mustat at the end of the season you have at least one player nominated.โ
โThank You, Butโฆโ โ Vilakaziโs Final Verdict
While he gave Nabi credit for breaking the clubโs decade-long trophy drought, Vilakazi believes itโs time to move on.
โIโd say, โNabi, you saved us from ten years without a trophy, but thank you very much.โ
