Remembering Gontse Mokgohloa: A Life Cut Short

Gontseās life was tragically taken when she was found murdered near Majaneng bridge on October 15, leaving a profound impact on those who knew her.
During the emotional funeral service, mourners reflected on Gontseās joyful spirit and love for dance, particularly to bacardi music.
Her mkhulu, Kaiser Mokgohloa, aged 76, poignantly expressed the fleeting nature of life, thanking attendees for their support during this heartbreaking time.

Cousin Karabo Lekalakala shared touching memories, describing Gontse as a āwonderful soulā who was cherished by all. āWe lost a daughter, sister, and cousin,ā she said.
āHer love and welcoming nature will always be remembered.ā Another cousin, Basetsana Morometsi, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the unbreakable bond she felt with Gontse.
āYou owned the stage,ā Basetsana remarked, affirming Gontseās vibrant presence.
Friends also took the opportunity to share their grief. Khutso Mokase, a close friend, referred to Gontse as āmajaivana,ā highlighting her longstanding passion for dance.
āWe lost a friend,ā she said, recalling the joy Gontse brought to their shared experiences.
Another friend, Minenhle Sithole, emphasized Gontseās infectious laughter and versatility, noting that she danced to a variety of music genres.
Gontseās mother, Sinah Mokgohloa, openly expressed her pain during the service, embodying the heartbreak felt by the family.
Gontseās manager, Kgothatso Lefifi from Spark Promos, also spoke of his sorrow, remembering her as always loving and happy.
Community members remembered Gontse as a bubbly and respectful young woman. Nadia Maubane, a neighbor, remarked on her joyful demeanor, stating, āGontse grew up in front of me. She was always happy and humble.ā
In a heartfelt tribute, Bishop Richard Ndlovu of the Barapedi Mmogo Apostolic Church danced in celebration of Gontseās life, highlighting the joy she brought to those around her.
Local political figures also expressed their condolences, with Thabiso Makou, EFF Ward 15 branch treasurer, emphasizing the communityās heartbreak over the loss of such a promising young life.
He called for justice, recognizing Gontse as an influential figure with many friends and followers.
Gontse leaves behind her mother, aunt, three sisters, one brother, numerous cousins, and a niece and nephews.
