Netflix’s latest local reality competition show, which will undoubtedly get the country talking, is now available to stream.

Hosted by Minnie Dlamini, the show features six couples who put their relationships to the ultimate test.

They compete with one another by undergoing a series of lie-detector tests using eye-scanning technology.

The objective is simple: be truthful and avoid deception to secure the prize money.

Here we tell you everything you need to know about the show.

How the show works

At the end of each episode, the couples have to answer a series of questions. The money pot starts at R500 000. If they lie, money is deducted.

If they tell the truth, the pot will be increased, and the grand total can go up to R1 million. While they all work towards the pot, only one couple can walk home with the cash prize.

Not just lies…..

The couples face more than just the challenge of honesty; like in Temptation Island, they must also navigate the presence of singles.

Initially starting together in one villa, they are soon separated into two villas where they will live and mingle with the singles.

The eyes are the windows to the soul

Unlike traditional lie detector tests, which measure several physiological responses, the show uses eye detection, which measures slight changes in eye behaviours, to detect lies.

Meet the couples

Munake and Gontse

The couple has been together for 9 months, but according to them, 1 month doesn’t count. Munake entered them into the show to determine whether Gontse wants something real.

Clayton and Wilfred

The couple have been dating for a year and eight months. They have some issues in their relationship, and Clayton describes them as both possessive and jealous. Clayton entered them into the show because “they definitely have doubts.”
