The images, which alluded to allegations of abuse suffered by Ndamase at the hands of Sidambe, and one of which she captioned: “Thank you my angel”, and tagged the businessman’s Instagram account before deleting the stories had tongues wagging, with some social media users sympathising with Ndamase, while others said she had it coming.
In response to the controversy, on Monday, Sidambe subsequently issued a statement denying any assault on 27-year-old Ndamase, while alleging that she had a history of assaulting him.
However, Ndamase denied Sidambe’s allegations to City Press, adding that she was the victim in their relationship.
She said:
I have voice notes and recordings of Leeroy assaulting me. In his statement, why didn’t he say that he assaulted me, and it was not the first time he physically abused me. Verbal abuse has been going on for two years, but I am not going to go back and forth. He knows his truth, so yeah, it is what it is.
The owner of Malakyt said she would not share the proof she was talking about, because she wanted to close that chapter and move on with her life.
Asked if she attacked Sidambe on Sunday, Ndamase said she did not.
In his statement, Sidambe said Ndamase left 78 missed calls on his phone before arriving at his house, accusing him of infidelity, and attempting to stab him with a knife — a claim he says was witnessed by his son who rescued him after hearing his father plead with Ndamase.
This abuser has no shame, this statement is peak abuser template. Ey, Leeroy sana #Mihlali #leeroy pic.twitter.com/OF61DUo6IN

“Upon arriving as my son recollects, she headed to the kitchen to equip herself with a knife in the attempt of stabbing me as she allegedly was shown evidence of me being unfaithful.
“Mihlali Ndamase then came to my bedroom as I was asleep to confront me for being unfaithful and attempted to stab me, of which I protected myself by pushing her away from me, resulting in her sustaining her injuries as she made contact with the wall,” read the statement on Instagram.
It further read:
With this being said, I would like to inform you that Mihlali has a long history of physically abusing me and damaging my property especially when she is under the influence of substances I cannot name.
Ndamase rubbished claims of trying to stab Sidambe, but admitted to calling him 78 times, and having proof of his cheating.
“I did call him, and he is the one who asked me to go to his house so we can talk. There was evidence that he was [cheating]. Financially, I don’t need his money, emotionally and physically, yes [he has been abusive],” said Ndamase, who added that she did not wish to further comment on the matter.
The two started dating in 2022, and it appeared that Sidambe was still married to his estranged wife Mary Jane Sidambe.
They have since been having an on and off relationship with Ndamase announcing in December last year that she broke up with the businessman in October.
At the time, Sidambe was seen on social media having fun with his friends and other women.
Abuse aside because no one has a right to abuse anyone(both women and men)Was Mihlali really expecting Leeroy to be faithful to her? Knowing how she got him in the first place? Did she genuinely believed he won’t do the same kuye? What was she expecting? pic.twitter.com/3jSutGBjIN

“Don’t post in Dubai like you’re bosses when you owe me money. Talking about catching flights and not feelings, who was coughing up money in Mexico when your card was declining? Lol. Don’t try me,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
