It’s over”! Finally Senzo Meyiwa can rest in peace. Fans rejoice after pictures of Kelly Khumalo with the police went viral

After Kelly Khumalo was spotted arriving at the Tshwane All White Festival on Monday, 16 December, escorted by police with bangles on her wrists that at first glance resembled handcuffs, a wave of ululations erupted from the crowd.

Many attendees jumped to the conclusion that the controversial singer had finally been arrested in connection with the death of Senzo Meyiwa.

However, the initial excitement quickly turned to confusion when it became clear that the bangles were part of her outfit and the police were there solely for her protection.

The Truth Behind the Police Escort

Kelly’s dramatic entrance and exit under police guard were not related to any arrest but were a security measure implemented by the event organizers. Festival founder Tiny “Sister T” Baloyi clarified the situation, saying:

“Kelly was escorted just for security reasons, and nothing else.”

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi further explained:

“This was an authorised event, and the police were responsible for maintaining safety as required by the Sasrea Act. The police intervened after the crowd reportedly advanced towards the singer aggressively, preventing any injuries or incidents.”

Fans Divided Over the Special Treatment

While some fans appreciated the police presence, thanking them for ensuring Kelly’s safety, others noted that no other artists at the festival received similar security.

Despite the drama surrounding her arrival, Kelly remained focused on her music. Speaking to Daily Sun, she said:
“I’m happy with the performance, and it was amazing.”

A Show-Stopping Performance

Kelly’s set was nothing short of electrifying. Fans sang along passionately to hits like Uthando and Esphambanweni, proving her ability to captivate a crowd.

One attendee, 34, expressed their joy:

“We’re happy that Kelly performed during the festival. I can dance to her songs. I’m happy the police took care of her.”
