In the early 2000s, David, a white South African businessman living in KwaZulu-Natal, made the bold decision to adopt a 4-year-old girl named Lindiwe after meeting her during a charity outreach program.
She had lost both her parents and was living in dire conditions with extended family who could barely provide for her.
Despite cultural differences and backlash from some in his community, David adopted Lindiwe and raised her as his own daughter—making sure she had education, healthcare, and unconditional love.
