Missing teen’s body found under bridge, family speaks out.
The family said the teen’s body was badly injured due to numerous vehicles running over her.
The family of a 13-year-old girl, Nqobile Hlophe, who went missing last week says her body was found severely injured after it had been run over multiple times.
The Durban teen went missing on Friday, July 19, and was reported at the Pinetown Saps at around 7 pm.
According to the family statement, a missing pamphlet was circulated on social media platforms requesting the assistance of the community to trace her whereabouts.
“On Saturday morning at around 2 am. The family received information of the teen’s last seen spot in Ashley on the roads towards the Pinetown Army base on top of the N3 freeway.”
“The family proceeded to the said location, and discovered the child’s bags on the bridge above the N3 freeway, and contacted the police to attend,” reads the statement.
According to the statement, the police came and conducted an investigation which revealed that there was a hit-and-run on the N3 under the bridge she was last seen at.
The family said on the same day they went to the Pinetown Government Mortuary where the body was kept and identified the body as of Nqobile.
The family said she was badly injured due to numerous vehicles running over her.
