Following Saturday’s narrow 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, coach Nabi said he has unwavering faith in his Kaizer Chiefs project.

“I am not the problem. I didn’t come here for the money,” Nabi said via Citizen.

“I have a mission here with Kaizer Chiefs.

I am not here for the money. I love this club.

I am strong, I don’t lose my confidence quickly.

I am going to sacrifice everything to take Kaizer Chiefs where they belong.

“I would like to pass a message to the fans. I would like to apologise to them for the log standing. It doesn’t reflect the performances. We are working very, very hard. We would like to assure them that our log standing today is a temporary thing.

“I am pretty sure that we will finish the league higher than we are.

We are seeing the improvement of our players in these big games, the character and the mindset that they have.

“We feel that it’s only small things that could have made the difference in the big games.

We are aware of that, and we are working on it.

Don’t panic! Don’t panic,” concluded the Kaizer Chiefs mentor.

Despite a mixed start to his tenure, Nabi says he is not going anywhere.

But I love this club, love the project.

It’s sad when you’re criticised by your colleagues,” he said after the Sundowns match.

Kaizer Chiefs finally confirm Nasreddine Nabi as new head coach

Nabi has lost 10 matches since joining Kaizer Chiefs.

Despite suffering their third defeat against Sundowns, Nabi was upbeat with his players’ performance.

“It’s a game that we will leave with some regrets,” he said.

“We feel that we have done enough to create problems for our opponents, we created opportunities.

We had more control in the second half but it’s football, at the end you have to score.

I deserve we deserved a tie with the performance we displayed,” Nabi said.

With 11 matches to go, Nabi is confident that Kaizer Chiefs will finish strongly.

“We know that we have lost the points today and we need to go back and push ourselves for the next game.”

“What we need to take from this game is the performance and the improvement of the players during the season.

We know the standing on the log doesn’t really reflect our performance, but the standing is a temporary thing and we know we are going to finish the season higher,” he said.

Last month, it was reported that Nabi turned down an offer to coach the Tunisian national soccer team to stay with Kaizer Chiefs.
