Sphephelo Sithole finally talks about his transfer to Kaizer Chiefs.
Sithole, a product of the KZN Academy, has spent several years in Portugal, playing for clubs like Sporting CP and CD Tondela. Currently, he is on loan at Gil Vicente in the Primeira Liga.
His performances in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was a key player for Bafana Bafana, have attracted attention from clubs both in South Africa and Europe.
Agent’s Statement
Sithole’s agent, Manuel Tomas, confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs initiated contact in December 2024. However, he emphasized that no formal offer has been made “In December, yes, we received some calls from the club [Chiefs].
We don’t know what will happen… it’s football. But we haven’t received an official offer from Chiefs for Sithole.”
Sithole has expressed his admiration for Kaizer Chiefs in the past, stating,“That’s my club, I love Kaizer Chiefs. I can’t close the door to Kaizer Chiefs, but for my age, what I want right now I would love to continue in Europe.”
With his loan at Gil Vicente nearing its end, Sithole is expected to return to Tondela. His future remains uncertain, with potential suitors from both South Africa and Europe. As of now, a move to Kaizer Chiefs has not materialized.
While the interest from Kaizer Chiefs is evident, Sphephelo Sithole’s transfer to the club is not finalized. Fans will need to await further developments regarding his potential move.
