Kaizer Chiefs legend Willard Katande says Nasreddine Nabi and his team need to fix a few things to get back to winning ways.
Kaizer Chiefs legend Willard Katsande says his former team needs to learn quickly and start getting results.
Amakhosi are currently ninth in the Betway Premiership after eight matches. Nasreddine Nabi‘s side suffered their third league defeat of the season when they went 2-0 down to Polokwane City this past weekend.
A loss sees the team drop down to ninth on the log but Kaizer Chiefs legend believes it’s just a lack of experience. The club has brought in seven new players for the new season and although signs of improvement are there, the team still lacks quality.
“In our era, we had international players. [Some] had just played the World Cup. We were surrounded by internationals. It’s not like the players are bad but maybe that they are lacking experience, where you need it in these kinda games,” Katsande said on SoccerBeat.
“Not every time you’re winning 2-0, you want to attack and play good football. Sometimes in our days, we used to put a third centre-back. From there, we play what they say it’s ‘boring’ football, but you look at the scoreboard. They need to learn quickly,” he said.
Kaizer Chiefs legend on what Amakhosi need to change
“It goes to the leadership of the team of the team, where they have to take charge. If you look at the past two games [before this past weekend], that’s what they needed, maximum points to get moving. The second round is difficult. You can’t let a lead slip like that,” the Kaizer Chiefs legend added.
“You can see that the hunger is there, but can we play with our heads? it’s not like you need to dominate 90 minutes, because that would be unfair in football.”
