Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule’s death in August 2024, after a long struggle with lung cancer, cast uncertainty over the future of the awards she so passionately developed.
Bishop Nkambule has since reassured the public that the event will proceed as planned, maintaining its esteemed reputation.
The 17th edition of the Crown Gospel Music Awards is slated for Sunday, 24 November 2024, at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng.
The nomination process is currently open and will close on Thursday, 10 October 2024. Bishop Nkambule has promised to uphold the high standards set by his late wife, ensuring the awards remain a premier celebration of gospel music in South Africa.
Bishop Nkambule also emphasized that Zanele will remain an integral part of the awards’ history. “Zanele will always be remembered as the lifetime president of the Crown Gospel Music Awards.
