South African musician, Makhadzi, never ceases to be the hot topic amongst South Africans. Taking to her Instagram, Makhadzi revealed the cover of her album “A Miracle Child” set to drop in October 2024.
Clearly inspired by Rihanna’s album cover “Unapologetic”, Makhadzi’s album cover shows her unclothed with words such as polygamy, PhalaPhala, Arts and Culture, BET, One Woman Show, miscarriage, and more. These painted words on her body represent the challenges and achievements she has faced in her life and her career.

Despite the heartfelt caption accompanying the reveal: “Ladies and gentlemen allow me to introduce my album cover. A MIRICALE CHILD. I opened my wardrobe and found nothing to wear to cover my pain and celebration. Instead, I decided to wear all my pain and celebrations”, Mzansi could not see past the RiRi-inspired cover, as they shared their thoughts under the post.
As a play-on to Rihanna’s 2007 album titled “Good Girl Gone Bad”, an Instagram user jokingly commented “Good girl gone Venda”. While others left comments like “We got Rihanna at home”, “Rihanna was found shaking” and calling her “Ririkhadzi” and “Bad girl Khadzi”.
Although many poked fun at the Venda Pop singer, others showed their support with comments like “Vulnerability represents strength. Today you wore your pain and happiness.
It shows you are resilient, courageous and most importantly you are human”. Another Instagram user commented: “Sorry darling for such a rough year, but you are a super strong woman. May God bless you more and congratulations on your wins.”
X (formerly Twitter) users made sure to let Makhadzi know how they felt about her album cover and how disappointed they are with her team, suggesting she should look at getting a new team.
However, many were rooting for Makhadzi while appreciating the message behind the album cover:
