Sihle Sibisi recently went live on social media to address rumors and controversies surrounding her relationship with King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, clarifying various misconceptions that have circulated widely online.
In a candid and emotional livestream, Sibisi expressed frustration at being labeled an intruder or home-wrecker, emphasizing that she had never sought out the King, but was instead approached and invited into his life.
She strongly refuted allegations of wrongdoing, highlighting that polygamy is a customary practice accepted within African royal households, thus challenging those who accused her of breaking the King’s marriage.
According to Sibisi, her connection with the royal family was never a secret, asserting she spent time openly at the royal residences, including the palace in Ulundi, and that her children were also welcomed there.
Addressing accusations of victimhood, Sibisi explained clearly that she never considered herself a victim regarding her relationship with King Misuzulu; rather, her frustration stemmed from the King’s silence in not publicly dispelling false narratives that labeled her an intruder.
She underscored her disappointment that despite private requests, the royal family did not issue any statement defending her, leaving her vulnerable to widespread online abuse and threats.
Throughout her livestream, Sibisi emphasized her respect and continued friendship with King Misuzulu and insisted that she holds no grudge against him or the Zulu royal household, but rather aimed to clear her name from damaging rumors that posed serious risks to her safety and reputation.
Sibisi also addressed an audio recording leaked on social media, which allegedly showed the King plotting against her, clarifying that this recording was originally part of confidential discussions between legal representatives meant to help clear her reputation, but was maliciously leaked by factions opposed to the King’s leadership.
She asserted her innocence in this controversy, indicating that the leaked recording was being weaponized by internal factions within the Zulu royal family seeking to destabilize King Misuzulu’s reign, and firmly distanced herself from those political infightings.
Deeply concerned for her safety, Sibisi disclosed she had opened a criminal case following threats and intimidation from unidentified individuals who mistakenly linked her to efforts to undermine the Zulu monarchy.
Additionally, Sibisi bravely shared her personal struggles, detailing the extreme stress and trauma she experienced due to relentless online harassment, ultimately leading to a severe medical condition known as Bell’s palsy earlier in the year, which required hospitalization and intensive treatment.
Despite these challenges, Sibisi remains committed to her work with the Kwanele Foundation, an organization she founded to support survivors of abuse and exploitation, inspired by her own traumatic experiences within religious institutions earlier in life.
Throughout her livestream, she maintained composure, often directly engaging with commenters, urging them to listen carefully before judging her, while also highlighting her belief that much of the criticism directed at her stemmed from misinformation or deliberate misrepresentation of her actions and intentions.
Sibisi concluded by calling for greater understanding and empathy, especially from women who have been harsh in their judgment of her, and reaffirmed her determination to stand firm against any attempts to silence her voice or rewrite her personal narrative unfairly.
Her message was clear: while controversies may surround her, Sibisi intends to continue advocating for herself, her children, and others who find themselves unfairly targeted or misunderstood in public discourse.
