South African well-known rapper Shebeshxt has admitted that his daughter’s death has turned him into a different person.
Controversial Limpopo rapper Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, lost his daughter in a tragic accident in June. The accident also landed the 27-year-old in hospital.
Recently, a video of him asking a fan to let go of his car door has been circulating on social media. In the video, Shebeshx is seen talking to the fan.
“This is something you’re used to, to start me? I’m struggling to close my door and after you’ll be saying things. I’m asking you my brother, for me to close my door,” he’s heard saying.
In the background of the video, excited fans are heard cheering and calling out his name.
He recently did an interview on the EFF podcast and had a lot to say.
Shebeshxt said he misses his daughter every day. He said when he was discharged from hospital, his fans were happy to see him again.
He said his one-man show in September showed him people still love him.
“It made me realise that me being in the music industry isn’t just for me but there are people looking up to me,” he said.
Shebeshxt said being an artist was a blessing.
“I used to be a thug and feel bad to have raised my daughter with that money. Losing her like that still hurts me.”
The rapper said he was happy the show was a success, but not entirely.
“I wish my daughter was there to see me do this. I’m honestly making people happy but deep inside I’m broken and not okay. The only way I’ll be fine is if my daughter comes back,” he said.
