Actor Warren Masemola, who plays Skeem Saam, tells Sunday World that he feels at home with his people again. Gopane, played by Masemola, is an elderly Turflooper who relocated to Johannesburg in order to work as a cab driver. On Monday, November 4, he will return to Turfloop to look for answers regarding the unexplained disappearance of his son Smaki.
Gopane promises to find out what happened to his teenage son at the dam. When asked about joining the performance, Masemola replied, “It is absolutely beautiful.” I genuinely feel like I’m in Limpopo. “Being a city boy that grew up in Tshwane, the set of Skeem Saam makes me feel like I am back with my people.”

The SABC1 educational soapie Skeem Saam recently welcomed newcomer Julia Mathe as Mapitsi and Tbose’s nanny, Sis Bertha. She made her debut on the Monday, October 21 show. According to TVSA, Bertha is controlling and has a strong and domineering mentality, which will pose problems for the Turfloop “it” marriage. She will also cause trouble for Tbose’s mother and Mapitsi’s mother-in-law, Meikie Maputla (played by Harriet Manamela).
On September 2, the show debuted Mapitsi and Tbose’s baby son (Pitsi). SABC1 has revealed that Lethabo Matsetela will play the new Pitsi Maputla. Pitsi’s on-screen parents, Hungani Ndlovu (Thabo “Tbose” Maputla) and Mogau Motlhatswi (Mapitsi Maputla), received their new child, Baby Oratile (Realeboha Khotle). Season 13 saw the new family of four move out of Meikie’s house and into their new home.
