After Orlando Pirates attacker Monnapule Saleng was released from the Bafana Bafana squad but did not return to his club last week, KickOff reveals his next step.
Saleng was expected to return to Pirates after SAFA released a statement that he was among four players sent back to their clubs last week, with their replacements also announced.
He had played the entire game in a CHAN qualifier, a 1-1 first-leg draw against Egypt.

However, indications are that the winger did not link up with Bucs and has instead returned back home in the North West.
After the left-footed winger’s representatives revealed that:
“This matter involves significant issues at the core of the employer-employee relationship that require resolution.
“Our client remains committed to addressing these matters through the appropriate legal and professional channels.”
This website understands that the first port of call, in terms of legal avenues for Saleng, would be the PSL’s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC).
Should the Bafana Bafana star’s representatives approach the independent courts before approaching the DRC – the PSL resolution body – Saleng could face a charge from the League for misconduct.
“…The following are specifically declared to be acts of misconduct on the part of any person or body falling under the jurisdiction of the League,” article 55.3 reads in the NSL Handbook.
“The approach by a Member Club, Player, Coach or Member Club Official or any person subject to the provisions of the NSL Handbook to seek recourse in a Court of Law, any administrative tribunal, SAFA, CAF or FIFA on any issue that can be determined in terms of this NSL Handbook before all procedures prescribed in these prescripts have first been exhausted.”

There are reports the former PSL Players’ Player of the Season has signed a pre-contract elsewhere.
And if the ex-Free State Stars man does not return to the Soweto giants until the end of the season and joins another club, that club could also be subject to a PSL charge for misconduct, for “inducement” (influencing a player to breach his contract), according to article 55.3.9 in the PSL Handbook.
