Number one on our list is Dr. Musa Mthombeni and Liesl Laurie. Dr. Musa Mthombeni is a TV personality, medical doctor, and actor who rose to fame as a presenter on YO TV. His wife, Liesl Laurie, is a model who was crowned Miss South Africa in 2015.
After dating for 11 months, the couple fell deeply in love with each other and decided to tie the knot. Musa is often found in the comment section of Liesl’s posts, constantly drooling and complimenting her, expressing how he can’t believe she’s actually his wife.
Despite being trolled on social media for being too much of a simp, Musa has never let that get in the way of showing how excited and grateful he is to have Liesl as his wife. They celebrated their white wedding in August and have been commemorating each month as they wait for their first anniversary since saying “I do.”
Number two is DJ Sinclair and Major Bongs. This couple needs no introduction. DJ Zinhle and Black Motion’s Mthokozi are two of the biggest names in house music, so it was a lovely surprise when the two announced that they were a couple.
After being dumped not once but twice by a baby daddy, aka DJ’s internet, definitely deserves this breakthrough. The couple reportedly kept their relationship a secret for almost two years before making it public, and they’ve quickly become one of Mzansi’s favorite celebrity couples. The lovebirds have already welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Asante.
However, DJ Zinhle dismissed any ideas of getting married, making it clear that her decision has nothing to do with Mthokozi but was just a personal life choice not to get married in this lifetime.
Number three is Lady Du and Andile Mxakaza. Lady Du is undoubtedly the lady of the moment in Amapiano, and as for her fiancé Andile, if you watched Easy Buyer, then you definitely recognize him.
The couple initially started dating 12 years ago, only to break up four months later. But you know what they say, if it’s meant to be, then it will be. In 2020, after more than a decade, the two fell in love again, and after only three months into the relationship, they got engaged.
Lady Du admitted she was initially scared but later realized that saying yes to the actor was the best decision she has ever made. In August 2021, the couple celebrated their engagement anniversary, and Andile felt his wife-to-be deserved a bigger rock on her finger, so he upgraded her engagement ring with a much more expensive one.
Number four is Stephanie and Hungani Ndlovu. Now, this couple is Mzansi’s favorite celeb couple. The actors rose to fame during their days on Scandal, and they’ve been setting relationship goals ever since. They got married in 2019, and their relationship has been an inspiration to a lot of young couples. Stephanie has described marriage as being the most challenging yet rewarding thing.
Number five is Kuli Chana and Lamiez Holworthy. Kuli Chana is one of the pioneers of South African hip-hop, and his wife Lamiez has also made a name for herself as a DJ and TV personality. The couple is the true definition of a power couple, although they’ve made it clear that they have no ambition of being labeled as one.
They got married in 2019 and have been showering each other with love ever since. From boldly defending each other from internet trolls on social media to going on surprise trips to islands, the couple has shown us that love is a beautiful thing when you’re with the right person.
Number six is K Naomi and Kuzani Shange. Now, this relationship has not exactly been a fairy tale, but it has shown us that celeb couples also go through relationship problems just like regular people.
K Naomi revealed that she was dating her mother and businessman Kuzani Shange in February 2021. The TV host was so in love that she got a tattoo of her boyfriend’s name on her thigh. However, in August, after the couple had gone to Dubai for a vacation, there seemed to be trouble in paradise.
Kuzani claimed K Naomi had gone missing after he dropped her off at a salon, meanwhile K Naomi had ditched the poor businessman and was actually on a flight back to Johannesburg. However, the two seem to have fixed their issues, and their love for each other is stronger than ever.
Number seven is QuesT and Yolanda. QuesT and his wife Yolanda definitely qualify for the term a match made in heaven. The couple met in 2010 when QuesT was just 22 and Yolanda was 20. More than 10 years later, the lovebirds have managed to keep the fire burning, and there’s no sign of them bending out anytime soon.
Although it was not part of the plan, they welcomed their first child in 2013. Yolanda has admitted that the love and support she got from QuesT during her pregnancy is what helped to make their life stronger. In 2018, after dating for eight years, they finally got married, and in 2020, the couple was blessed with their second child.
Number eight is Tando Thabooti and Lunga Shabalala. A lot of people are against the idea of going back to an ex, but this couple proved that it is not always the case, and sometimes you just have to follow your heart. Tando Thabooti and Lunga Shabalala initially started dating in 2019.
They broke up a few months later, and in 2020, Tando even moved on and started dating a popular Nigerian businessman. However, this didn’t last long, and she decided to reconcile with her ex, Lunga. The couple looks happier than ever, so we definitely hope it wouldn’t end in tears again.
Number nine is Pretty Ugly and Pointless. This couple is no introduction, as they are known as one of the oldest couples in Mzansi. Their love story goes way back to around 2006 when they started chatting as friends on Mxit. After being friends for three years, Pointless actually made the first move on Pretty Ugly.
The rest is history, and more than 12 years later, their life is still going strong. The couple is now married and they have one child together. Pointless is her husband’s biggest cheerleader, and she’s revealed in an interview that she wouldn’t leave him even if he cheated.
Number 10 is Kamalini Mbali and Gail Mabalane. Kamalini Mbali and his wife, Gail Mabalane, have invested more than eight years of their life in their marriage. The couple says they feel blessed that they are still so much in love, just like when they first met each other. The pair, who got married in 2018, have been blessed with two beautiful children, a boy and a girl.
Number 11 is Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones. Minnie Dlamini is one of the hottest and most successful actresses in the country, so her husband Quinton Jones hit the jackpot with this one. After being dribbled by ex-boyfriend Itumeleng Khune, Minnie finally found the man of her dreams, and boy has it been a fairytale.
The couple got married in a lavish wedding in September 2017, and their wedding was documented on the reality series “Becoming Mrs. Jones.” The documentary was bought by MultiChoice for 6 million rand. Four years later, the couple is very much in love and they’ve been blessed with their son.
Number 12 is Pepsodumo and Mampintsha. Despite the drama and controversy surrounding this couple, we have to admit that Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha are head over heels in love with each other. The couple survived physically and mentally abusing each other by going for counseling.
Many fans criticized Babes for getting back to Mampintsha after facing domestic abuse, but she didn’t listen, and the couple seems to be happily married now. She says the love he has for her makes her overlook some of the bad stuff he has done. The couple recently welcomed their first child together, a son whom they’ve given the nickname Spongy.
