South Africa has witnessed a significant rise in mixed-race relationships and marriages since it transitioned into a democratic country. These mixed-race relationships include some of our favorite celebrities and public figures. However, sadly, some of these relationships never outlasted the storms. In this video, we focus on 10 mixed-race celebrity marriages that ended in tears. But before we proceed, we ask you to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell.

Number one: Sis and Rachel Colis. In October 2024, South Africans were left in a state of shock after Sis and Rachel announced that they were getting a divorce. The two lovebirds and their family were public on social media and were admired by many South Africans who saw them as one of the country’s power couples.

Many South Africans viewed the mixed-race celebrity couple as a symbol of the rainbow nation, where racial tensions are still raw 30 years after the end of apartheid. Sis and Rachel met in 2012 and, after 4 years of dating, the couple is blessed with two children, who are mixed-race, mostly referred to as “colors.”

According to a statement they released on social media, the former couple expressed that the divorce was mutual and amicable but didn’t specify the reason for the divorce. They said they would still co-parent their four children and continue to work together on their foundation that they have set up.

Number two: Amanda Dupond and Sha Rodriguez. Actress Amanda Dupond was also in a mixed-race marriage and was the epitome of that for the nation. She was married to Sha Rodriguez, whose profession is not known to the public.

Unfortunately, in 2023, it was reported by ‘s life that Amanda Dup’s marriage to Rodriguez was over, and they filed for divorce. The former couple had an epitome of a perfect marriage, as they had shared glamorous images of their vacations.

However, their marriage was not perfect and all happy as we eventually saw them separate. The couple started dating in 2015, got engaged during a romantic getaway to the Maldives in July 2018, before their finalized divorce in 2023. Rumors about their separation spread the internet in 2022, before it turned out to be true the following year.

Number three: Benni and Maria Santos. Former footballer and coach Benni was once married to a Spanish wife, Maria Santos, before divorcing her and getting married to his current wife.

Their divorce took place in 2007 when Benni wanted to go to England, but Santos didn’t want to leave her home country. According to Benni, this was a serious problem for them, which eventually led to their divorce.

During those days, Benni traveled a lot from one country to another because of his career as a soccer player, so being married to someone who didn’t want to leave their home country was a serious problem for their relationship. Benni and his ex-wife were together for 5 years before the divorce and have three daughters: Mina, Mia, and Algra.

Number four: Linda and Steve May. Former actress Linda was once married to a white man, the radio personality Steve May. Unfortunately, their beautiful marriage, as it seemed, ended in tears, mostly for Linda, after 6 years of being together. The former couple, who had a very private relationship, divorced after allegations of his infidelity surfaced.

Internet users alleged claims that he was having relations with university students. According to reports by Bon magazine’s website, their divorce left Linda heartbroken and in tears. Linda took to X, formerly Twitter, where she was candid about her struggles around healing after experiencing a heartbreak.

Number five: L and Robin Cole. In 2019, many were shocked to hear that L, whose real name is Lat Lab, and her white husband, Robin Cole, were separated. The reason for the divorce was just speculated, as they never mentioned why they are getting a divorce.

L and Robin were married for nearly 10 years but had no children together. Perhaps the lack of children caused a rift between the two, or perhaps one of them wanted children while the other desired the opposite.

Number six: Inois and Chris Dwood. Celebrity choreographer and YouTuber Inois and her husband Chris Dwood were reported to have been separated back in 2023. Their relationship started sometime in 2017 when they tied the knot and were blessed with two daughters.

Their glamorous wedding was published on a reality TV show. Many knew this mixed-race family by their dancing videos on Instagram. They also had a YouTube channel where they published and documented their daily life. So when they divorced, they never informed their followers; instead, they stopped uploading their content and went mute.

Number seven: Dudan Zuma and Shen Sto. Former president Zuma’s son, Dudan Zuma, was reported to be heading for divorce after staying separated from his wife, Wwine. In March 2021, Shen Sto moved out of their matrimonial home because Zuma was quite unwilling to solve their marital problems.

According to reports, Dudan Zuma allegedly neglected his wife because of his political ambitions, and Sto got tired of fighting to get his attention, so she moved out of their house and was staying with their parents, considering filing for divorce.

According to an informant to IOL Online publication, Sto said that the house was always full of ANC comrades, mostly during the 2021 elections, and she was very annoyed by that since she’s someone who loves space.

Number eight: P and Ran Adams. Radio personality P was also married to a white husband, Ran Adams, but their union ended in separation.

The separation and divorce proceedings were not smooth, as the ex-husband started accusing P of bribing the lawyers so that she does not share her wealth with him. According to reports, Adams wanted 50% of the estate since he claimed P and their marriage was recognized by law as marriage in community of property.

However, P denied that their marriage was recognized by law, and there was nothing to share. From the followers’ perspective, the two looked like they were married, but the kind of marriage they had is not known. P and Ran’s marriage is one of those which ended in tears. The former couple got married in April 2016 and had a child together.

Number nine: Matthew Boo and Sonia Boo. Soccer legend Matthew Boo and Sonia Bonavia, referred to as Sonia Boo, made headlines back in 2001 when she was a nanny for one of his teammates. They later got married and were blessed with two children. Unfortunately, the happy marriage ended up sour because Matthew was now cheating on Sonia with Banim Tom.

Back in 2022, Sonia couldn’t keep up with his infidelity behavior, so she decided to expose him, and that’s when things got even worse for their union. After that, Sonia filed for divorce and she claims it was worse than being in ICU. In September 2024, their divorce was officially finalized in court, and Sonia was glad that she didn’t lose herself in the process.

Number ten: P.M. and Naim. Another celebrity in a marriage with a white man but eventually called it quits. TV presenter P.M. was in a long relationship with Naim, and it fell apart back in 2021.

The two were blessed with a baby boy during their togetherness. After separation, P.M. and Naim continue to meet on their son’s birthday. On another post, P.M. said she doesn’t regret choosing Naim; he is a baby daddy she claims is the best daddy ever for their child.
