Brand Partnerships

South Today has no advertising today. Here is how we would approach it.

South Today currently carries no advertising and no sponsored content. There are no banners, no sponsored posts and no partner logos on this site. This page explains what we would want to hold to if that changes, and how to reach us if you would like to talk.

Where things stand

We are a launch edition, and we have no commercial partners. We have not published rates, packages or media kits, and we will not name clients or prospective partners, because there are none to name. Nothing here is an offer.

Principles if partnerships begin

  • Clear labelling. Anything paid for would be marked as such, in plain words, wherever it appears.
  • Editorial independence. Partners would not review, shape or approve our stories.
  • No disguised placement. We would not take payment to put a business or product inside an article that looks independent.
  • Fit. We would only consider partners whose work respects the communities and places we cover.
  • Reader privacy. We would not hand over readers' personal information, and we would update our privacy policy before anything changed.

What we are not

We are not selling access to our readers, and we have no subscriber or audience figures to share. We will not make claims about reach that we cannot support.

Get in touch

If you would like to start a conversation about a future partnership, write to [email protected]. Say who you are, what you do, and what kind of collaboration you have in mind. We cannot promise a reply or a timetable, and we will not agree to anything that conflicts with our editorial standards. Press questions go to [email protected] instead, and general questions to [email protected].

A note on timing

Nothing about this page should be read as a sign that partnerships are imminent. We would rather build a readership and a body of work we are proud of before we think about commercial relationships. If that changes, we will announce it on this page and in our editorial standards, and we will explain plainly what readers will see, so that no one is surprised by a change in how the site looks or behaves.
