The best way to reach South Today is by email. We are a small, independent publication at launch-edition stage, and we do not publish a phone number or a postal address. This page lists which address to use for what.

What to include

Tell us what you are writing about in the subject line. If you are reporting an error, give the title of the story and describe what you think is wrong. If you are pitching, include a short summary of the idea. Our pitch page and corrections guidance in the editorial standards page explain this in more detail.

What to expect

We read what comes in, but we do not promise a reply or a response time. Messages that need action, such as corrections, are given priority where we can. Because our stories are illustrative, some questions, such as requests to interview a person described in a story, cannot be fulfilled, because the characters are fictional or described only by role.

A note about the bylines

The names on our launch edition are placeholders. Emailing one of those names will not reach an individual. Write to the addresses above instead. Our masthead page explains the bylines.

Before you write

A few quick checks may save you time. If your question is about how the site works, the about page and the subscribe page cover most of it. If you want to contribute, the pitch page tells you what to include. If none of these help, write to us. We are glad to hear from readers, even when we cannot answer every message individually.
